Dream. Believe. Achieve. Athletics Holiday Development Clinic (January)


This clinic conducted in the January school holidays is open to ANY 5-17 year olds!

The clinic is designed to provide opportunities for skill / technique development in the participants desired athletic track and field events through coaching from some of South Australia’s best coaches. There is also a Mini Olympics offered to allow the participants to put their learnings into practice!

Our aim is for you to dream… believe… and achieve personal best results!


  1. Tuesday 14th January 2020 – COACHING SESSION DAY
  2. Wednesday 15th January 2020 – MINI OLYMPICS DAY + Meet Paralympic Gold Medalist BRAYDEN DAVIDSON! 

 SA Athletics Stadium, 145 Railway Terrace, Mile End SA 5031

The Mini Olympics day also includes the opportunity to hear from Paralympic Long Jump Gold Medalist BRAYDEN DAVIDSON.

Brayden is a South Australian athlete who took home the gold at Rio in 2016 in the Men’s Long Jump T36 with a personal best jump of 5.62 m. He has also taken out two bronze medals at the World Para Athletics Championships!

We are very excited to have Brayden along as our guest and are certain he will provide an inspiring experience for all of our holiday clinic participants!

COACHING SESSION DAY (Tuesday 14th January 2020)

U6-U8’s to develop their skills in Sprints, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, Hurdles & Modified Javelin!

U9-U18’s to receive exceptional coaching in 3 athletic events of their choice for 45 minutes each! These events include:

  • Sprints (Straights)
  • Sprints (Bends)
  • Distance Running
  • Hurdles
  • Walks
  • Shot Put
  • Discus
  • Javelin (U11-U18)
  • Long Jump
  • Triple Jump (U11-U18)
  • High Jump (U9-U10 – Scissor Kick Only)
  • High Jump (U11-U18)
  • Pole Vault (U12-U18)

MINI OLYMPICS DAY (Wednesday 15th January 2020)

An opportunity to put the coaching skills into action in a Mini Olympics competition to achieve personal best results.

U6-U8 = Set competition events of 100m, 200m, Discus & Long Jump

U9-U18 = Select a maximum of 3 events per session (refer below for the schedule).

The Mini Olympics will involve the following events only:

  • 100m
  • 200m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • Shot Put
  • Discus
  • Javelin
  • Long Jump
  • Triple Jump
  • High Jump (U9-U10 – Scissor Kicks Only)
  • High Jump (U11-U18)

  • Each participant in U9-U18’s can only do a maximum of 3 events per session. The choice of which events to compete in does not need to be made in the registration process.
  • U6-U8’s will compete in the set events. During waiting times between events, a coach will be conducting skill-based activities to continue practising the skills for the event.

NOTE: Photo finish will be used and results attained at the Mini Olympics will contribute towards qualifying for Little Athletics SA State Championship Events.
