Primary Schools – LAPS

Little Athletics Program for Schools (LAPS)

Our LAPS program can be delivered to primary school students to introduce them to the basic fundamental movements of athletics, or provide students with fun and engaging development sessions run by the Associations excellent track and field coaches. The objective is to develop students knowledge, fundamental movements skills, and technical understanding of athletics, so students can participate and compete safely and successfully.

Sessions can focus on running, jumping or throwing, or even a combination of the three. It’s completely up to you! Some key ways you can make the most of our LAPS session are:

  • To teach specific events that teachers may not be comfortable with.
  • Weekly visits to deliver the curriculum’s compulsory athletics unit.
  • Preparation for athletic carnivals (i.e. school sports days, SAPSASA, SACPSSA).
  • Coaching assistance at Sports Days.

Little Athletics SA can provide school’s with a one-off visit or multiple visits throughout the term / year. Sessions can be before, during or after school, and we also offer our services at your School Sports Days.

Bookings are essential and dates are dependent upon availability. To get a tailored quote for your LAPS sessions(s), CLICK HERE and fill out the form. Once completed, one of our staff members will be in touch with you to provide a personalised quote.

NOTE:

  • Please understand that we aim to conduct all session visits for those who request them, however we cannot always guarantee this.
  • Please understand that country schools may incur extra costs for sessions, depending on the distance from Adelaide’s CBD.
