Winter Membership

Winter Season runs from April to July. The Winter Membership provides athletes access to all Cross Country and Race Walking programs.

What does the Cross Country Season entail?

The Cross Country season gives athletes an opportunity to run a distance race over different terrain and courses each week. Most meets include creeks, mud and hills! Athletes from the Tiny Tots to Under 17 age group may take part in Cross Country meets. All Cross Country meets include events for Mums and Dads, Rec Aths members, and an Open race too.

It does not matter what your ability level is, the Little Athletics SA Cross Country season is the perfect recreational activity for any child or adult! It caters for anyone that wants to give distance running a go as YOU get to choose what distance you would like to participate in. It is also a great way to improve your fitness and make new friends!

What does the Race Walking Season entail?

The Race Walking Season gives athletes an opportunity to participate in race walking meets away from the athletics track. U6 to U8 athletes can participate in a fun event, and U9 to U17 athletes can participate in a race walking event under the eyes and guidance of experienced race walking judges.

Meets are conducted by the SA Race Walkers Club (SARWC) at their home location in the Adelaide Parklands.

It is a great way for athletes to practice and work on their technique in a relaxed and friendly environment! The course utilises a paved pathway through the parklands, and is not conducted on a public road.

Which Club should I join?

As we have over 50 Little Athletics Clubs in South Australia, each of them operate slightly differently. This may mean that their weekly meets are held on different days, at different times, at different locations and they may also have different Membership Fees. Visit the Find a Club to search for your closest Club!

How can I register?

To register your child for the season, you will need to visit our Find a Club page, select the club you would like to register for, then create a family profile. (if you have already done this to register for a Come & Try / or if you have done this previously, you will not need to re-create a new profile).

Please note, if you have purchased a Season/Summer membership the Winter Season is included in that cost.
