Tour Overview
- Dates: 6th – 13th January 2027
- Team: A team size of 12 athletes across U14 & U15 (Born in 2013 & 2012). All Athletes must be registered Little Athletics SA Members in the 2026-27 Season.
- Location: Whangārei, New Zealand
- Competition: New Zealand Colgate Games, North Island.
- Partner Organisation: Joint tour with Little Athletics Victoria, Athletics New Zealand
- Primary Focus: Participation, development, team culture, and travel experience
Overview
Little Athletics SA is excited to announce our inaugural New Zealand Development Tour! This 8-day trip offers athletes a fantastic opportunity to gain international travel experience, build self-confidence, and compete in a fun, supportive environment.
Run in partnership with Little Athletics Victoria, South Australian athletes will travel, stay, and socialise alongside Victorian peers. Rather than focusing on high-pressure performance outcomes, this tour prioritises participation, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Athletes will compete at local tracks in Whangārei, participate in joint clinics, and experience local culture and sightseeing across the week.
What’s Included?
- Return international flights and all local ground transport in New Zealand
- Full accommodation and all meals
- Official state team competition uniform and travel apparel
- Entry fees for local track & field meets and development sessions
- Group activities, sightseeing excursions, and team social events
- 24/7 supervision and management by experienced team managers and coaches
