SALAA pays tribute to Wendy Beisiegel – Express your intent to attend Memorial

Published on Jul 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that the South Australian Little Athletics Association advises that our much-loved Board and Life Member, Wendy Beisiegel, passed away on Tuesday 7th July 2020.
Wendy made a significant impact as a volunteer to Little Athletics and the community in South Australia for over 30 years. Wendy made an incredible contribution to the sport in her continuous involvement with Barossa Valley Little Athletics Centre as a committee member, parent and grandparent, as well as serving on the Association’s Board of Directors, and being part of the organising committee for the 2002, 2009 & 2016 Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC’s).
With the Association alone, Wendy served as the Deputy Chairperson and Administration Director on the Little Athletics SA Board from 1994 to 2010, and maintained her involvement as the Board’s secretary to as recent as last season. Wendy has been the longest serving Board member in the Association’s history. As recognition, Wendy was inducted into the Little Athletics Australia Roll of Excellence in 2018.
It is without a doubt that Little Athletics SA, our sport and Barossa Valley as a club, wouldn’t be where they are today, without Wendy. She will be dearly missed in our community.
On behalf of the Board and Staff of Little Athletics SA, we would like to send our dearest condolences to Wendy’s husband Dieter, her children Rachel, Belinda, James, and extended family.
Little Athletics SA, alongside Wendy’s family, will be holding a Memorial Service in her honour which will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday 9th August 2020 at the SA Athletics Stadium – Marjorie Jackson Nelson Dr, Mile End South SA 5031.\
